Improving the fashion industry with every stitch.
Tad More Sustainability Institute
What We Do:
Education & Awareness: We run workshops, public talks, and art-based programs to educate the community about fast fashion’s environmental cost and how to make sustainable choices.
Certified Sewing Apprenticeships: Our Department of Labor–approved Industrial Sewing Machine Operator Apprenticeship equips individuals with in-demand skills for long-term employment in sustainable garment creation and repair.
Textile Waste Reduction: In partnership with Tad More Tailoring, we actively upcycle, mend, and alter garments—helping people extend the life of their clothes while reducing landfill waste.
Workforce Development: By training a new generation of sustainable designers, tailors, and sewing professionals, we create both job opportunities and long-term career paths in our local economy.
Community Impact:
Environmental Stewardship: Our work helps reduce CO₂ emissions, water usage, and textile waste, directly contributing to a healthier planet.
Economic Empowerment: We provide training and job access for individuals looking to enter or re-enter the workforce with meaningful, practical skills.
Creative Problem Solving: Through upcycling and hands-on learning, we inspire innovation, confidence, and resourcefulness across all ages and backgrounds.
At its heart, the Tad More Sustainability Institute is a community-driven solution to one of the fashion industry’s biggest problems—proof that with the right tools and education, we can all be part of tailoring a cleaner future.
